DESTINATIONS

Christoph Hoffmann, above, is a most unusual hotelier. As CEO of 25hours he helped set up a group that was deliberately different – in Berlin 25HOURS BERLIN overlooks the hotel, in Paris the hotel is essentially an extension of Gare du Nord.

25hours Bikini helps make Berlin fun. In Madrid, Hector Coronel, Director of Tourism at Madrid City Council, is working flat-out to bring the Spanish capital to the top of the Hot List. He has just returned from promoting the city to the United Arab Emirates, on Friday 18th March, in partnership with Greg Liddell, RVP/GM of MANDARIN ORIENTAL MADRID THE RITZ, he hosts some Virtuoso travel advisors for the night-before-sailing, Virtuoso’s 2022 International symposium, on Silverseas. Hector Coronel is sailing too – Girlahead looks forward to meeting this tourism professional who obviously never stops.

Abu Dhabi, the capital of the United Arab Emirates, is currently transforming its signature giant of a hotel to EMIRATES PALACE MANDARIN ORIENTAL ABU DHABI. The latest proceedure therefor is announcing Talea by Antonio Guida, based at MANDARIN ORIENTAL MILAN’s two-Michelin-starred Seta. Talea, Guida’s first outlet outside Italy, will serve seasonal and authentic Italian cuisine in an elegant, lively setting with an open kitchen.

In Hamburg, 25HOURS HAFENCITY helps put this Hanseatic city on the map. The hotel, part of Accor’s Ennismore Lifestyle division, gets consistent rave reviews for interiors that are reminders of the maritime destination, plus its super breakfasts – and its sauna.

25hours Hafencity is also to be applauded for being one of over 70 hotels supporting Hospitality-Helps.org, housing those displaced from Ukraine. Note: rooms are still desperately needed in Austria, Germany, Hungary, Moldova, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, and The Czech Republic. Please, contribute room nights via Hospitality-Helps.org and clicking on ‘I Have Rooms’, to a platform powered by HotelSwaps. A typical offer is five double rooms for five nights. The initiative is led by Jonathan Worsley, Chairman of Bench Events, plus Christian Walter and Michael Widmann, both of PKF, and HotelSwaps Ltd’s Preben Vestdam. Please, everyone, SPREAD THE WORLD.

Listen to Christoph Hoffmann again, here – it was recorded while he was cycling through Berlin, in German rain:
