WELL-BEING

It’s wellness and well-being time. SIX SENSES NINH VQN BAY in Vietnam adds Ninh Van Greens, a solar farm to power the resort while growing crops for the restaurants and spa. Ninh Van Greens houses a 1,600 sq m organic garden, called Solar FreshCuts – by ingenious placement of 800 solar panels, elevated 2.5m above ground, land beneath is used to grow organic food crops while energy is being produced.  By this August, Ninh Van Greens had generated more than 229.127 kWh of electricity and supplied 17% of the resort’s energy. 31 crops have been grown, providing 580 kgs of vegetables – Ninh Van Greens will also house 15 different varieties of fruit trees, including bananas, jackfruits, mangos, and pomegranates.

And now, still on the well-being front, it’s awards time. Rebecca Cohen, Director of The World Spa Awards, has announced the 2022 winners. Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group is World Spa Awards’ Best Hotel Spa.  Miraval Resorts & Spas won World’s Best Wellness Retreat Brand. Aromatherapy Associates is World’s Best Aromatherapy Brand, and Elemis is World’s Best Spa Brand.
