DINNER, designed by Adam Tihany, is a delightfully sunny room looking out over Hyde Park. The restaurant, overseen by Heston Blumenthal, has Deiniol Pritchard as chef.  He and his brigade prepare dishes from historic cookbooks: TRUFFLE comes from The Complete Practical Cook by Charles Carter, about 1730.

The golfball-sized shape is actually truffled mushroom parfait. It is served with a thick slice of ‘grilled bread’, namely a Bordeaux-style wheat and rye bread, toasted and finished in the barbeque to add a smoky note, then brushed with olive oil infused with thyme, rosemary and garlic.

It’s named Giovanni’s in honour of 47-year veteran Giovanni Rizzi. With a Sicilian chef, it is not surprising the menu includes burrata and Sicilian artichokes on the antipasti menu. The pizza range is because consultant is Jeremy Viale two-time World Pizza Champion and three-time French title winner (did YOU know the French not only eat pizza but also know how to make it?).

In honour of Summer, GLENEAGLES holds a glamorous Garden Party on Saturday 17th June. This will include a tennis demonstration. Andy Murray’s mother, Judy Murray, will be chair umpire for the day as Johanna Konta, Naomi Broady, Thomas Enqvist and Xavier Malisse rally up the party spirit with an epic mixed doubles exhibition match. Of course there will be Pimms and other drinks on the lawns, delicious and decadent afternoon teas with scones. Oh what fun!
