That’s her, above, Amanda Hyndman, surrounded by some of the 820 team members of the 501-room MANDARIN ORIENTAL HONG KONG.
The hotel – much older than her – is celebrating its 60th birthday this year, and ‘the boss’ made a suitable statement:
‘2023 is the Year of the Rabbit, a symbol of longevity, peace and prosperity in Chinese culture, while this year is also predicted to be the year of hope. After years of global change, Hong Kong has finally fully reopened to international travellers so we are thrilled to be entering a new era of calm and prosperity in one of the world’s safest cities. On behalf of our entire hotel family, I would like to express our heartfelt appreciation for your continued and loyal support during these challenging times.
‘The hotel’s 60th Anniversary is a pivotal moment for Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group, especially for all of us in the very heart of Hong Kong. A multitude of celebratory programmes and activities are taking place throughout the year to mark our milestone, so I very much hope that Hong Kong is top of mind as you pursue dreams and new adventures.’
