Restaurant Alain Ducasse at Hôtel Plaza-Athénée, Paris
Simply Sunday. The gal is still on Hainan Island, musing over the wealth of experiences she has seen here. She realises that at all the luxury hotels she has visited here she has not seen a silver cloche. Have her eyes been closed, or has she been to the wrong places, or have silver cloches passed the way of duck presses?
I think back to my last visit to Paris, when I called by to see some of Hôtel Plaza-Athénée‘s superb renovations. Designer Patrick Jouin has done it again. This photo shows photographer and friend reflected in one of the giant silver cloches that form the backs of arc-shaped bankettes, in the new-look Alain Ducasse restaurant. My mind shifts back quickly to today, and the myriad of organisational chores that need to be done. Believe it or not it is hard work travelling…
