Simply Sunday – and here is a message to all airport developers, owners and operators. First, employ an architect who does a really beautiful job on terminals (say Norman Foster at Beijing, absolutely stunning). Next, put art in said terminal. At Atlanta there is a long subterranean walkway between terminals that is like walking through an ethnographic museum. I have written before about the art gallery landside at Heathrow terminal five. I love it. Now they have sculptor Lorne McKean working there live, creating amazing horses out of wire and clay. She tells me it takes about three months to finish one sculpture. Luxury travel tip, keep your eyes open and you learn something every day.
