Simply Sunday. Keep your eyes and ears open as you never know what might happen, and that event could be short-lived and you do not want to miss it. Anyone arriving in Venice this last week probably wondered why a sky-high crane, based on a pontoon, was soaring over the swimming pool gardens of the divine Cipriani (Orient-Express) luxury hotel. What was it? Well, hotel GM Giampaolo Ottazzi (current new words ‘devastating, diabolical’) wanted to do something different. Bring in the crane, and an events management company, 5th Events, and invite 22 lucky people to be taken up, on a platform with dining table and two butlers and lots of Pommery, for an unbelievable 360-degree bird’s eye view of Venice.
