Kale patty with aioli and avocado

You are what you eat, the gal says again and again. Just having flown between Washington DC National (Ronald Reagan) and Nassau, and watched, both ways, how my fellow passengers stuffed themselves on JetBlue’s free snacks, I was all the more relieved I had bothered to buy a roast beef salad with arugula on the way out, and order a vegetarian ciabatta sandwich from Meliá Nassau Beach for the return.

While in the Nassau area, I ate splendidly.  One lunch was at Goodfellows Farm. Simple format.  Drive to the 60-acre working farm, go into the farm store, order what you want from a handwritten slate and it is made up there and then, fresh from today’s just-picked ingredients (if only luxury hotels had vegetable gardens immediately to hand…).  This was my lunch, a kale patty on green with aioli, and half an avocado.  Delicious…
