Simply Sunday, and simply the best. Without culture, life is merely existing. Luxury hotels that include culture give you, the traveller, so much more.
Culture comes in so many forms. Stay at many Peninsula hotels and live music wafts down from upper galleries while you daintily enjoy your afternoon tea.
Stay at the Swatch Art Peace Hotel in Shanghai and one suite (they only have suites) has a salon with walls hung with giant sheets of plain white paper. You are given crayons and paints, to produce your own art work.
At Royal Monceau Raffles, Paris, they are hanging photographs taken by Cerise Doucède, 25, winner of the hotel’s competition a year ago (judges included hotel GM Omer Acar, plus its interior designer, Philippe Starck, and the permanent curator of its many artworks, Hervé Mikaeloff.
Doucède won 20,000 euros to produce whimsical portraits taken in the luxury hotel. Love it, and I am sure all the guests will too.
