Encounters, at M-Bar, Mandarin Oriental Hong Kong

Last week, Simply Sunday suggested trying such new-wave dishes as dehydrated vegetables – but creators are doing imaginative things with drinks, too.

This is the Encounters cocktail that will be served exclusively at M-Bar in Mandarin Oriental Hong Kong, and only from March 12-22, 2015, during Art Basel Hong Kong.  This luxury hotel is a host hotel for the art event and there will be inhouse exhibitions, too, but oh this drink…

It has been created by M-Bar Manager Jessica Ho.  It is presented like this, in two parts and blended in front of you.  You both get – yes, it is for two – a blend of Tanqueray Gin, Campari‘s Aperol, grapefruit juice, peach purée, pomegranate syrup, lemon juice, topped up with Ruinart (Art Basel Hong Kong’s sponsor Champagne), and garnished with rosemary.

GirlAhead, who usually sticks to coffee and berry smoothie at breakfast, water during the day, and red wine at night, nevertheless says, on this occasion be ahead, and adventurous.
