The luxury Six Senses Douro Valley spa hotel adds extra dining

Six Senses Douro Valley

One of Portugal’s best-known culinarians, Ljubomir Stansic, adds to the dining experiences at Six Senses Douro Valley, 90 minutes’ drive from Porto.  Terroir, by Ljubomir Stansic, offers such dishes as savory cheesecake with goat cheese and oxheart tomato, and cauliflower marinated with avocado and curry. Born in Sarajevo in 1978, Stansic started as a food technologist and today his empire includes such books as Cascais 100 Maneiras and restaurants and judging RTP1’s Masterchef Portugal.  Six Senses Douro Valley, run by GM Nick Yarnell, evolved as such in 2015 and it wins well-justified rave reviews for its stunning 57 bedrooms, designed by Clodagh, its gorgeous grounds and its wellness facilities, which include an 11-room spa with an indoor pool.
