An exclusive, intimate private island comprising just 15 overwater Ocean Residences and a resort where everything is included.
Announcing the official opening of Kudadoo Maldives Private Island by Hurawalhi, an exclusive, intimate private island comprising just 15 expansive, overwater Ocean Residences and a resort where everything is included: from fine dining to in, on and above the water adventures to luxury spa treatments. Kudadoo is available for adults and children over the age of 15, unless rented exclusively.
Located in Lhaviyani Atoll, just 40 minutes by seaplane from Male International Airport, Kudadoo is designed with contemporary Japanese elegance by renowned architect Yuji Yamasaki. The resort is defined by air and light, both in the design of the villas and a central two-storey main building on the island – The Retreat. As an essential part of the architectural statement of Kudadoo, 300 kW of solar panels are incorporated within the sloping roof of The Retreat, which are able to fully power the island – the first such sustainable luxury resort of its kind in the Maldives.
Only native plants and trees growing in their natural environment will feature on the island, strategically placed near the shoreline to prevent erosion. To continue Kudadoo’s environmental commitment, there is also a water bottling plant to substantially reduce the island’s plastic consumption, a food-recycling programme and a collection of local greenhouses producing fresh produce for guests. Together these innovative elements ensure that protecting the natural environment is as high a priority as the comfort Kudadoo provides.
Kudadoo boasts 13 one bedroom Ocean Residences each measuring 300 square metres and 2 two bedroom Ocean Residences of 380 square metres. Each offers privacy, spaciousness and comfort with a dedicated butler and super-king sized beds, some of the largest private sundecks in the Maldives and all with a 44 square metre terrace pool as well as in-villa baths, Bang & Olufsen audio systems and IPTV (including Netflix and Spotify), unique to Kudadoo in the Maldives. Kudadoo also offers facilities for guests’ personal and household staff to be accommodated.
The reef surrounding Kudadoo is recognised as one of the most abundant and undiscovered in the Maldives. Kudadoo guests are able to snorkel from their terraces and join the dolphins that frequently swim directly in front of the Residences. There is also an abundance of beach for guests to find their own private place on land.
Kudadoo will also offer its own marine biologist to educate guests about the inhabitants of the surrounding seas. Guests are invited to swim with Manta Rays, turtles and dolphins as well as kite-surf, windsurf, blue light snorkel at night, paddle-board at sunrise and jet ski, wakeboard, kayak as well as scuba-dive with sharks or deep-sea fish for sailfish or marlin. All activities are private and complementary.
The Kudadoo Wellness Retreat – which goes beyond spa to an integrated wellness offering – is created to connect, immerse and transform the guest on their wellness journey. Offering organic Living Ocean products from Healing Earth, the spa experience also continues the Anything Anytime Anywhere theme so guests may enjoy signature spa treatments and experiences wherever and whenever they wish during their stay. Based at The Retreat, the spa includes a Himalayan Salt Room – another first for the Maldives – a nail bar, steam room, sauna and treatment rooms with horizon views as well as a fully equipped gym with a personal trainer, yoga instructor and meditation guru at the full disposal of guests.
The Restaurant – open all day and all night – offers unscripted dining prepared by personal chefs: guests are invited to choose whatever they want to eat, whenever and wherever they want to eat: in the villa, under the stars or even on a deserted sandbank. Guests are also able to enjoy breakfast in Residence and a champagne brunch throughout the day. The restaurant has both air-conditioned and alfresco dining, a dedicated cheese room and an impeccable owner’s wine cellar. For the health conscious, there is an array of superfood and vegan options.
A separate Bar and Games Room at The Retreat overlook a freshwater infinity pool and the beach and there are also a boardroom and meeting facilities available for corporate retreats.
Hurawalhi Private Island – just 5 minutes away by private speedboat offers on land activities including tennis, badminton and beach volleyball, as well as its signature 5.8 Undersea Restaurant – the largest in the Maldives (price not included in the Kudadoo stay) and the Aquarium Restaurant serving modern Asian street food and Teppanyaki (price included in the Kudadoo stay).
Kudadoo is available to book from 1 October at all-inclusive Residence prices starting at $3,300 per night.
