Kempinski hosts a great evening

On Wednesday, 13 May 2020, Kempinski Hotels hosted its first-ever Virtual One Hour Club in cooperation with Barcelona City FM – and the luxury hotel group’s CCO, Amanda Elder (second from left, above, at another Kempinski event) says it was a fantastic success.

The One Hour Club was launched in 2014 and has since evolved into a steady institution at many hospitality business shows. Usually, in the world of reality, the Club allows networking with key partners, who can unwind at the Kempinski corporate booth.

As IMEX 2020 in Frankfurt was cancelled, this virtual event was organized to reconnect with Kempinski MICE partners on the same day and time the ‘original’ event would have been taken place during the show. The Facebook event invitation has been shared with MICE partners in a customised newsletter and has been also shared via the IMEX Group.

The 60-minute session meant a happy hour of upbeat music from the past and present, turned by DJ Gigi El Amoroso. Even if the physical aspect was missing, everyone said afterwards they fully appreciated being connected, to feel the vibes and ‘dance’ along with the Kempinski team. The hour garnered more than 5,000 views. Click-through to the Facebook video, below

‘It was fantastic’, says Amanda Elder, who is now planning the next One Hour Club musical happy-hour to celebrate the re-opening of Kempinski 7Pines Resort Ibiza, a 195-key resort in the Sant Josep de sa Talaia area of this fun island in the Balearics. This is absolutely appropriate as ‘Balearic’ is DJ-led dance music, also known as Balearic Beat or Balearic House, emerged in the mid-1980s to become, and remain, a global force. (GM of Kempinski 7Pines Resort Ibiza, a member of Leading Hotels of the World, is Markus Lück.)
