Veuve Clicquot – Global Wellness Institute – Mauritius

Girlahead has already fallen in love with the goodies at Clos19, the boutique headed by Bernard Arnault’s niece. Now look at the latest Veuve Clicquot idea, available from Clos19. The clever Champagne brand, part of the LVMH stable, shows its love for retro aesthetics with just-launched Veuve Clicquot ‘Tape’ case designs, above. There are three separate designs, based on the retro style of 1960s audio cassettes.

Well, Girlahead thinks that at least the bubbly contents would make anyone feel better. Talking of wellness trends, mid-year highlighters from the significantly powerful Global Wellness Institute GWI, based in New York, are led by these five points: Hollywood and the Entertainment Industries Jump into Wellness; The Future of Immune Health means Stop Boosting, Start Balancing; Admiration for Spiritual and Numinous Moments in Architecture; At All Times, especially now, Just Breathe!; The Self-Care Renaissance.  This last requires us all to be responsible, for ourselves.

Who knew GWI could provide professional speed-dating?  At its last Summit, in Singapore, Steven Phillips, then GM of Joali in the Maldives, started chatting with Paul Jones, vibrant CEO of LUX Collective. Want to return to Mauritius, Jones asked Phillips, a Welshman whose wife is Mauritian? A three-minute chat led to the Phillips’ relocation and Steven Phillips is busily getting ready to open LUX Grand Baie this November.  Girlahead will be sharing more details later but, amazingly, this beach-set resort will have three floors of wellness, with three running tracks and an infinity Olympic-sized pool, on the rooftop.
