Go authentic when it comes to food and do not be afraid of publicising what you have to offer – see the sign, above, on a buffet at WESTIN TURTLE BAY RESORT & SPA MAURITIUS. Girlahead had many fine eating moments there, including outstanding and health bites planned for breaks in meetings. One memorable dish was grilled fresh tuna and fries, at Beach Grill.
There was also vegetable tempura followed by Nasi Goreng – with a glass of Casa Albali Tempranillo Shiraz 2019 Valdepeñas – at Mystique. Somehow eating with your feet in the sand makes a meal even more memorable.
If no sand, at least go for a view. Look all around you in Tel Aviv at the newly re-opened Dinings by Masaki Sugisaki at THE NORMAN. Sugisaki-san celebrates authentic Japanese techniques and utilises best seasonal produce from small-scale suppliers. The menu includes specialities served Chef Sugisaki-san’s London flagship Dinings SW3. There are also such local favourites as Tar-chips served with three signature accompaniments Tuna Chili Miso, Salmon Yuzu or Roasted Beetroot Tahini Miso; Tartare served with Caviar & Jalapeño vinaigrette and Dinings’ unique Temaki Hand Roll, offered with various fillings including Freshwater Eel & Miso Foie Gras Mousse or Salmon Yuzu.
Dinings also has an extensive cocktail and sake list. Signature cocktails include Blossom Mochi, with Mashu Mashu, prosecco and kombucha, and Not a Mizu, rum-infused coconut with pineapple and nutmeg.
So, Girlahead junkies. Bon Appétit.
