Yippee, Singapore opens its borders today. Gosh, GIRLAHEAD LOVES LIFE – AND LEARNING.  See the NIKE SNEAKER ABOVE, Nike Dunk SB Low Staple NYC Pigeon. It was priced at $200 when it was released 1997. It recently sold for $33,400. HOW COME? GRAPHIC DESIGNER JEFF STAPLE STARTED DESIGNING AND NUMBERING STYLES. Staple is for him. NYC is because he designed specifically around top world cities, Tokyo, London, Paris and New York. Pigeon? Well, look at the colours, three different greys, black and white, orange sole like birds’ legs, uppers especially soft, to emulate feathers. REMEMBER, 30 OF THE 150-RUN WERE NUMBERED, and Staple partnered with Nike from early-on.
Last night FORBES TRAVEL GUIDE – watch that brand grow (led by CEO Filip Boyen, FTG  is already THE LEADER in verifying the luxury hospitality space). Last night’s salute to
FTG’s accoladed hotels in Europe was a partnership with The Langham London and Moët & Chandon. Magnums, of course.
There’s another noteworthy partnership right now, in Florence. Rocco Forte’s HOTEL SAVOY PARTNERS WITH PALAZZO STROZZI, currently showing one of the most awaited exhibitions of the year: Jeff Koons. Shine.  The hotel’s Experience Jeff Koons in Florence includes a private tour of the exhibition.
DESIGN ELEVATES EVERYTHING, SAYS GIRLAHEAD. During LONDON FRIEZE last week, THE HARI was pushing Art Cocktails. Hotel bartender Giuseppe Abbracciante was inspired by everyone from Frida Kahlo to, possibly, Jeff Koons. GIRLAHEAD ASSUMES THAT ‘THE GODDESS‘ IS FOR FK RATHER THAN JK: for the record, it includes grappa cocchi moscato, maraschino liqueur, crème de violette, lemon and rose water.
Yes, design is paramount, wherever. Hearing about ISTANBUL’S FASHION SHOWCASE, 12-17 OCTOBER, with digital  shows and multimedia showcasing the best of Turkey’s design talent, reminds Girlahead of Kempinski’s Ciragan Palace, right on the Bosphorus. And THAT reminds her of another great Kempinski, at Lufthansa Center in Beijing.  Hear that hotel’s big-boss. Michael Henssler, now:
