Edie Rodriguez, CEO and President of Crystal Cruises, wore bright scarlet when she invited Matthew Upchurch, Chairman, Virtuoso, to christen Crystal Skye, at Las Vegas International Airport, Saturday, August 12th, 2017.   As Upchurch said, as the pair rose in a hydraulic elevator to smash the proverbial bottle against the nose of the stunning B-777, “This is such an honour, I am super-excited, and Crystal continues to set standards”. The plane, which has a range of up to 19 hours’ non-stop flight, is configured with 88 fully lie-flat seats as well as a lounge, with standing bar and extensive wine wall, for four tables of 12 (play cards here, talk, or dine, with gourmet food prepared in a show kitchen by South African chef François VanZyl, who was formerly with Etihad – Crystal Skye’s captain, by the way, was with Emirates for many years).  Guests at the christening were mainly the world’s most important cruise-selling travel advisors but the select number also included the Chairman and CEO Genting, Tan Sri Lim Kok They, and also Jon Buccola, Chairman and CEO of Greenpoint Technologies, the Seattle WA-based company that has built this stunning plane – its champagne and soft sky-coloured interiors are truly breathtaking.  SEE A VIDEO BELOW
