December 6th, 2017, is official opening day of the luxury Mahogany Bay Resort & Beach Club, Curio Collection by Hilton, on Ambergris Caye – but already infrastructural activities are ranking up. Every second and fourth Saturday of the month, for instance, a Mahogany Bay Market Day offers, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., a selection of small-vendor products, from fresh fruit and vegetables through to super-aroma baguettes and home-made jewellery. Some locals are already lucky to have sushi tastings from Toshiya Tsujimoto, chef of JYOTO Japanese Restaurant & Sushi Bar at the hotel.
The colonial-look Mahogany Bay Resort & Beach Club – see above – has 205 rooms and suites, and is run by GM Nik Leuenberger, whose marketing is considerably helped by the development CEO, Beth Clifford, who is rivalling Hillary Clinton on currently criss-crossing the USA on promotional engagements. She is speaking this Saturday, October 21st 2017, at the Women’s Real Estate Network WREN event, “Ignite Your Fire Within”, in Los Angeles. She is working closely with Time Inc and its publications, including Fortune, InStyle, Sports Illustrated and Travel+Leisure, and she has Robb Report on her list, too. Fortunately, when she gets home she can land right there – this is a luxury resort that has its own airstrip, as well as golf by Greg Norman and a myriad of other wellness opportunities.
