Girlahead believes differentiation in luxury travel providers includes charismatic personalities. Take Auberge, the Californian luxury-lifestyle brand that was formerly primarily associated with the Harmon family. Now, with Craig Reid as CEO, and the equally well-connected Christina Deeny handling awareness and distribution, expect even more desirable activity from this lovely company. And now to Switzerland. Mario Julen is a Zermatt-based alpinist, certified IVBV mountain guide, helicopter pilot, and successful hotelier. He is about to complete the Seven Summits (he has already been to both the North and South poles). His real estate development company, Matterhorn Peak AG, has developed such Zermatt projects as7 Heavens and Hotel Mama and now he is all set to open The Ritz-Carlton in Zermatt in 2026. The collection of chalet-type villas, with a total of 69 keys, is being designed by AW², led by Reda Amalou and Stéphanie Ledoux.
In the Maldives, Soneva Jani adds 27 overwater villas, with one- to four bedrooms. There are also three new restaurants, Overseas, by Mathias Dahlgren, which is plant-based and fish (Girlahead was first introduced to Dahlgren’s Swedish cuisine at The Grand Hotel in Stockholm when, run by GM Nils Axing, that splendid hotel was part of InterContinental); So Wild raw food, chef Diana Von Cranach; and So Primitive, spit-grilled meats, seafood and vegetables.
