FIRST LOOK: Inside Aqua Expeditions new ship and yacht
Aqua Expeditions has unveiled its much-hyped new luxury cruise additions, including the company’s first coastal ship and long-range expedition-class yacht.
Formerly named the British Naval Explorer HMS Beagle, Aqua Blu will commence service on 16 November, 2019 primarily operating seven-night coastal cruises of East Indonesia. With 15 suites in 3 cabin categories, Aqua Blu will welcome guests with on-board certified dive guides and a range of best-in-class cruise amenities including a sun deck, indoor lounge and bar, outdoor Jacuzzi, spa and an array of non-motorised watersports equipment including diving and snorkelling gear, kayaks and stand-up paddleboards.
Itineraries will cover tropical islands where wildlife, culture and age-old traditions reside in addition to the world’s best diving and snorkelling sites. Options include:
- Raja Ampat (Round-trip; December through to February; 10 departures/year)
- Bali-Komodo National Park (Bi-directional; April to September; 23 departures/year)
- Ambon & Spice Islands (Round-trip; October to November; 7 departures/year)
The program will also unlock multiple exotic locations in one 12-night itinerary, including The Forgotten Islands. The Limited Cross-Destination Voyages will operate up to four times annually on different routes.
Rates for 7- and 12-night Aqua Blu itineraries range from US$7,525 to US$16,475 per person in double occupancy.
For the Amazon, Aqua Expeditions is developing Aqua Nera in Vietnam. Aqua Nera will present guests with a luxuriously-appointed interior inspired by her surroundings: the blackwater lagoons and tributaries of the Amazon river and Pacaya-Samiria National Reserve.
Using dark-hued, sustainably-sourced wood as the key interior material, Aqua Nera’s 20 spacious, river-facing suites will convey a welcoming and stylish sense of Amazonian tranquillity. The design philosophy manifests across the vessel’s social spaces including the restaurant, lounge and spa. Aqua Nera will also feature a river-facing plunge pool and gym.
Destined to sail the Peruvian Amazon from 1 August, 2020, Aqua Nera will offer 3-, 4- and 7-night river cruise itineraries with rates ranging from US$4,125 to US$10,325 per person in double occupancy.
