Hotel Mercer Sevilla
Seville is known for such iconic hotels as Hotel Alfonso XIII (formerly Westin and before that Ciga). Now there is a newcomer on the block. Pedro and Amanda Molina have transformed a 19th century palace, Casa Palacio Castelar, into Mercer Sevilla – GM is Paula Antonio and there are 12 bedrooms. Facilities include a rooftop pool, and an all-day restaurant, Maria Luisa, named for one of Seville’s most prominent parks. Seville is two hours 20 minutes by train from Madrid.
