Chufy’s colourful gear is a collaboration with Luxury Collection hotels

The Luxury Collection, a unique ensemble of more than 119 iconic luxury hotels, and New York-based art director and fashion consultant, Sofía Sanchez de Betak, a.k.a Chufy, today announce the launch of an exclusive capsule collection. Inspired by ancient Peruvian art and culture, the collection ranging from sashed wrap dresses to flamenco style sets is available worldwide. This marks the third collaborative fashion collection between the brands, following Japan in 2018 and the United Arab Emirates earlier last year.

The 67 piece ready-to-wear and swim collection is vibrant and print-heavy. CHUFY x The Luxury Collection: Peru is inspired by Chufy’s local experiences from navigating an Incan trail, her Machu Pichu climb, bike rides through tropical forests rich in colorful wildlife, as well as her own unique discoveries along the way. The design narrative of the line is influenced by the natural surroundings of The Luxury Collection Resort & Spa, Tambo Del Inka, historic significance of Palacio Del Inka, a Luxury Collection Hotel in Cusco and ancient mysticism of the Andes prevalent at Luxury Collection Resort, Hotel Paracas.

Sofía Sanchez de Betak (nee Barrenechea) is a Buenos Aires born, New York based, Art Director and Fashion Consultant. An avid world traveler and style influencer, Sofía is the author of the Assouline published book, “Travels with Chufy,” where she highlights off-the-radar hideaways and secluded retreats where those in the know seek unforgettable experiences. Sofía has been named among the 10 most influential women of Argentina, together with the country’s First Lady and the Vice-President. With a keen eye and love for fashion and travel, Sofía has collaborated with several magazines and brands, working on special projects and often served as a brand ambassador. This list includes Chanel, Valentino, Rodarte, Chloe, Mary Katrantzou, Peter Pilotto, Michael Kors, Zara, Mango, Massimo Dutti, Globe Trotter, Jason Wu and The Luxury Collection (Starwood Hotels), Vogue, Condé Nast Traveler, Harper’s Bazaar, Revista La Nación, Nowness, among others.

As part of her inspiration journey throughout Peru, Sofía experienced Tambo del Inka, Hotel Paracas and Palacio Del Inka – all Luxury Collection hotels and resorts. Palacio Del Inka is a five-centuries-old mansion located in the heart of Cusco, across from Koricancha, meaning “Temple of the Sun”. Here you’ll find stone archways, authentic Hispanic art and ornate gilded antiques just minutes from the shops and museums in the main square. On the other end of the spectrum is Hotel Paracas, three hours south of Lima enclaved on the northern tip of the driest desert in the world. Facing the Paracas National Reserve, where natural beaches and a great variety of wildlife are preserved, the hotel offers world-class facilities, a private dock, the city’s only luxury spa, exquisite local and international cuisine and exciting experiences that will allow you to be in touch with nature and millenary pre-Inca cultures. An adventure to the Sacred Valley via a private train station brought Sofia to Tambo del Inka. The hotel serves as the perfect base to discover the unparalleled scenery, cultural wealth and hi-adrenaline adventure sports such as kayaking in the Piuray lagoon, take a horseback ride to the salt mines of Maras, mountain biking along the circular terraces of Moray, or canoeing on the Urubamba River. Time can be spent meeting global communities of skilled weavers, marveling at archaeological sites, exploring fields perfect for an outdoor picnic and of course, or making that once in a lifetime trip up to nearby Machu Picchu.
